Queen Flip
It's hard work to be flippant.
You might not think so, but it is. Flippancy is the art of not letting anything get too close, laughing the most intense shit off, because it is intense shit.
I excel at it. I am the Queen of Flip.
Hand me a crown and septor and I shall knight the masses.
Perhaps it is a gift too. Like a physical trick you do at parties to make people laugh.
Laughter is the key after all, laughter can help you push through the deepest of murk, it is like creating your own light at the end of the tunnel, for there are times when only you can be your illumination. When there is no one else to do the trudging for you.
Laughter can also be somebody else's light, if you shine it right.
You can use it like a highway of O.K that radiates from your belly, a beam of aural morphine, or a speedy deliverance from not-so-ok.
Like all medicine it can be misused. Overused, over the counter it can become denial. Tricky in it's symptoms, heady in it's persistant quackery.
Humour is like alchemy.
Humour will get you through the worst and the best of things.
It does not exist in a vacuum though, nothing does, It's all relative. Humour gets its power from the reality of fear, sadness and anger. I know that this reality can be argued, but everything can be argued. Too much thinking causes meltdown and as much as I appreciate thought, I prefer laughter.
So my motto stands.
... there is no proof that life is serious.
